Baulkham Hills, Penrith & Parramatta - What a Big Networking Week!

All September Local Area Marketing & Networking Online groups featured a fun segment - ‘How to Spice-up Your Zoom Sessions” and a tutorial on business pitch structure.

Baulkham Hills hosted the Small Business Knowledge Program – Sales & Marketing – and Penrith hosted Phase 3 of the new Business Health Insulation Program.

Business introductions and rotating one-to-one meetings in virtual private meetings are standard in all groups.

John Groarke ran the business pitch tutorials featuring the three-part international business school Gaddie construct and introduced his four-part Groarke construct.

John, Principal of JEGMC (Management Consulting) and mentor with the Small Business Mentoring Service (SBMS), is known as Australia’s ‘Mentor to Consultants’.

Western Sydney Business Connect Advisor, Graham Fitzpatrick’s Knowledge Program keynote, a Member’s Call session, focused on Smarts for Sales & Marketing During Crisis. He warned businesses not to go “dark” or they risked disappearing.

He emphasized consistency was crucial, repetition helps build reputation and you don’t need gimmicks to connect with people. He used examples of major brands and local small businesses running successful campaigns.

A first-time member collaboration brought together iSecurityGuru Director and author, Terence Kam, with Insurance Made Easy National Manager, Philip Watson. Their joint presentation focussed on the Business Health Insulation Program Phase 3 topic: 'How Well are Your Online Business Assets Insulated Against Cyber Terrorism?'

Terence ran a Cyber security Threat Assessment segment with a series of questions with points-based answer options for members to score their preparedness in areas from password management, software update and hardware disposal practices to secure file management and phishing safeguards.

Cyber security management tips, the role of cyber insurance and a preview of a member exclusive, new small business cyber insurance product was Philip’s focus. We will host its launch as part of NSW Small Business Month on 8 October.

Parramatta Group hosted a keynote on creating Unique Selling Propositions/Points (USPs) and how to use demographic data for better targeting.

Speaker Ralph Rintoule, Property Specialist with Gem Developments & Marketing, demonstrated the effectiveness of multilingual messaging in promotional and information material.

Group Organiser, Local Area Marketing Chief Marketing Officer, Joe Kowalewski, demonstrated the new Zoom filters, and updated members on the Business Health Insulation program.
