Despite clouds and threatened spring rains, the Spring into Liverpool celebration day at Greenway Park Oval blossomed all day long and into the evening.
Liverpool Animal Shelter offered free microchipping for dogs and cats, Children’s Services ran workshops to help enthusiasts build a take home mini fairy garden, while the Community Development and Planning Team encouraged visitors to design a miniature town out of recycled materials.
Free T-shirt design workshops, free native plants, a pop-up library, story-telling, face-painting, hula hoop workshops and bike repair workshops also featured.
The biggest crowd draw was centre stage where non-stop entertainment thrilled crowds with dance and fitness demonstrations, the Magic School Bus Plants a Seed Show and the Paw Patrol.
Bellbird Café’s Cordon Bleu-trained chef, Federico Rekowski, showed off his skills along with cooking demonstrations by Get Kids Cooking, coffee brewing tips from Underground Coffee Roasters, and pet nutritionist Naoko Okamoto from Chew Chew Pet Restaurant.
Evening activities continued with the screening of the movie Sing and plentiful food supplies on hand from food trucks.
